YUL Ground Transport Options

The 747 bus, airport access changes and the planned REM airport branch are different parts of the ground journey at Montréal-Trudeau.

Airport access changes

In its October 2025 parking notice, ADM Aéroports de Montréal announced the closure of the multi-level parking facility and the adjacent P5 lot in front of the terminal, effective October 15, 2025. ADM described the structure as nearing the end of its useful life. The notice said users would need to choose another parking lot on the airport site from that date.

ADM’s June 2026 summer travel advice directed departing passengers to ask their companion or driver to use the Express drop-off areas at P4 and P10. ADM described these areas as open seven days a week and served by frequent shuttles to the terminal. Its advice also called for arrival at the airport three hours before flight departure, regardless of destination, to complete pre-boarding procedures.

The 747 bus

According to the Société de transport de Montréal’s 747 service information, the bus operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Daytime departures run every 10 to 15 minutes in both directions. The route connects the airport with Lionel-Groulx and Berri-UQAM métro stations and the Gare d’autocars de Montréal bus terminal. STM locates its counter at door 28 in the international arrivals area.

Include any onward journey from the métro station or bus terminal when comparing the bus with a private transfer to a specific destination.

The airport REM branch planned for 2027

The REM commissioning schedule lists the airport branch for 2027, in collaboration with Aéroport de Montréal. It says the timetable is provided for information and may evolve through exchanges with partners.

For the YUL-Aéroport-Montréal-Trudeau branch, the work schedule lists finalization of interior and exterior work at Marie-Curie station and installation of electrical wiring in the tunnel leading to the airport.

Private-transfer meeting arrangements

For accompanying persons collecting arriving passengers, ADM’s June 2026 advice also identified the Express areas at P4 and P10 as alternatives intended to avoid congestion. It asked accompanying persons to make sure the passenger had arrived before heading there.

For a private transfer, agree on the precise meeting point and the next step after meeting the driver. Specify whether the arrangement involves an indoor meeting or collection at another agreed location. Include the flight details, destination, passenger count and luggage in the plan, together with a procedure for changes.

For a departure, describe both the starting point and the airport destination in the transfer plan. Ask whether the agreed drop-off is at the terminal or involves a shuttle connection, and allow for that connection when setting the departure time. For an arrival, agree on how a change to the meeting point will be communicated before either party moves.

Useful questions concern the whole journey: Where will the passenger wait? Where will the vehicle be? How will the two parties identify each other? What happens if the passenger is not ready at the agreed time?
